The AlFaisal Without Borders (Alf) Foundation is a charitable foundation established in 2011 by HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani, one of Qatar’s leading entrepreneurs and Chairman of the Qatari Business Association.
Sheikh Faisal’s companies play a significant role in the development of the Qatari economy and infrastructure as a whole.
Sheikh Faisal has introduced many opportunities and attracted diverse foreign investments in several different sectors to his beloved country of Qatar during the past 40 years. Now through the Alf Foundation, Sheikh Faisal is focusing on sustainable development, and aims to use existing resources to meet Qatar’s present and future needs. To do this, Sheikh Faisal has invested in excess of Qatari Riyals 1 billion, to support Alf.
The Alf Foundation actively promotes sustainable development and improved quality of life for people around the world, ‘giving something which no-one can take back’. The philanthropic, not-for-profit organisation partners with governments, charities and other NGOs internationally to run development programmes in addition to providing humanitarian aid and relief.
Alf also focuses on empowering people in need, regardless of their race, color, culture, religion or social status, by providing different types of social and educational support. It also aims to contribute to establishing social facilities such as universities, hospitals, medical centers and clinics, social and cultural centers, nurseries, kindergartens, knowledge centers and public libraries for research purposes.
Alf maintains strong relationships and works in partnerships with leading international charitable organisations including The Prince of Wales’ Charitable Foundation. The “Mosaic Initiative” Partnership UK/Jordan is one of the leading joint ventures in its domain.
