Enterprise Challenge Final 2011/12 - 15 March 2012

Enterprise Challenge Finalists from secondary schools across the UK will convene in London for the Apax-Mosaic Enterprise Challenge 2011/12 Final. The Apax-Mosaic Enterprise Challenge is a national competition that aims to raise the aspirations of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, through exposure to positive role models and mentoring. This year’s competition has been co-sponsored by the Apax Foundation and the Department for Communities and Local Government. Participants have benefitted from the guidance of successful entrepreneurs and experienced business mentors including those from companies such as Deloitte, Accenture, PwC and Ernst & Young. Tidjane Thiam, Group Chief Executive of Prudential and Mosaic Board Member is to lead senior business leaders on the last in a series of visits to see at first-hand how Mosaic’s mentoring programmes are helping young people from deprived areas to realize their potential and, in turn, help to revive the economy. Mosaic and Capco Financial Services Networking event- 29 November 2011

Hosted by HSBC Amanah, The Future of Finance: a year in reflection, the year ahead is for senior financial services professionals and will involve presentations and discussions with leading industry figures and professors, including Stephen Vinnicombe, Partner, Capco; Professor Philip Rawlings, University of London;  Professor Iain Allen, Cass Business School and Richard Thomas, CEO of Gatehouse Bank. The Prince's Seeing is Believing visit, led by Ismail Amla - 11 November 2011

Ismail Amla, Partner and North American Regional Business Leader of Capco and Mosaic Board member will be leading this visit of senior business leaders to look at Mosaic's work in action.  The visit is part of a national series being led by Tidjane Thiam, Group Chief Executive of Prudential Plc and also a Mosaic Board member, at the request of HRH The Prince of Wales.

The Princes Seeing is Believing visit, led by Toaha Qureshi MBE - 1 November 2011

Toaha Qureshi MBE, Chief Executive of the London College of Business Management and Information Technology, will be leading a Seeing is Believing visit of senior business leaders to look at Mosaic's work on the ground on 1st November. Parliamentary Eid Reception - 6 September 2011

Mosaic was selected as the charitable partner for the cross-party Parliamentary Eid Reception to celebrate    Eid ul-Fitr and the contributions of the Muslim community to the United Kingdom.  HRH Princess Badiya was  be the Guest of Honour, giving an explanation to the 200+ guests of the importance of Ramadan and the Eid celebration as well as an overview of Mosaic's programmes.  Other speakers included: Rt Hon Willam Hague MP, Foreign Secretary; Rt Hon Ed Milliband MP, Leader of the Labour Party; Rt Hon John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons; Simon Hughes MP, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats; and, Baroness Warsi, Cabinet Office Minister.  The reception was held at the Houses of Parliament.

Royal Launch of Mosaic South East - 5 July 2011

HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan of Jordan, Chairman of Mosaic, was the Guest of Honour at the launch of Mosaic in the South East region at Eton College. on Monday, 4 July.  Mosaic was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales and delivers volunteer-led mentoring programmes to support young people growing up in deprived neighbourhoods.  The official launch of

Mosaic South East provided a fitting celebration by local businesses, schools, mentors, delivery partners and students of the region's very successful first academic year in the region.  As well as hearing from HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan of Jordan, Chairman of Mosaic UK, over 100 guests heard from local Head Teachers and students who have experienced Mosaic programmes also heard from Shahid Azeem, the newly-appointed Chairman of Mosaic South East.  For more information read the News item.
