The Ex-Offender Guidance Panel brings together individuals with a track record of success within the criminal and youth justice system, the community support sector and within the private and public sectors. The panel will bring their various expertise, talent and contacts to support the development of Mosaic’s ex-offender work. Membership is by invitation only and provides an opportunity to add significant value to Mosaic’s programmes, under the overall direction of the Mosaic Board.

The Guidance Panel has been established to achieve the following:

  • Establish systems and processes for a mentoring programme that ensure high impact for beneficiaries
  • Establish high-quality mentoring resources for Mosaic volunteers, that will have credibility within the criminal justice system
  • Support our progression towards being externally recognised and accredited for our mentoring programmes
  • Ensure Mosaic’s position as a creditable provider of valuable rehabilitative services to secure establishments

The key initial focus for the panel will be to support the implementation of Mosaic’s expansion strategy for financial year 2011/12.

The role of the Guidance Panel is:

  •  To provide strategic support to Mosaic to ensure its mentoring programmes (processes and content) are fit for purpose, high quality and high impact
  •  To review and revise the resources necessary to deliver the range of mentoring programmes and interventions provided by Mosaic
  •  To provide a forum through which Mosaic can provide quality assurance and a continuous improvement framework for its work and approach
  •  To develop approaches by which Mosaic can strengthen its position within its target prisons and enhance its criminal justice credibility

  • Sarah Tranter - Pastoral Care and Faith Alliance Manager, HMP/YOI Rochester
  • Shaffiq Din – Co-ordinating chaplain and Imam, HMP/YOI Rochester
  • Simon Cornwall - Senior Probation Officer, Central Extremism Unit
  • Tony Cox – Community Engagement, Metropolitan Police
  • Vicky O’Dea – Operations Director, Serco
  • Waheed Saleem – Trustee, Nacro
