About the International Summit

Mosaic works towards a more integrated and thriving society where all individuals, regardless of background, are supported in realising their potential.  Mosaic is based in the UK and was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2007.

The Mosaic International Summit 2010 offered young Muslims an exciting leadership development opportunity.  The Summit aims for delegates:

1)     to develop leadership ability and an aspiration to be an agent of change

2)     to develop understanding of key global issues and inspire positive thinking to address them

The Summit ran during July 2010 and was developed from our first international gathering of Muslim young leaders - the very successful Mosaic International Summer School 2009.

As well as equipping participants to become active leaders within their communities, the programme is designed to introduce them to a wider, global context. The workshops, activities and lectures that took place in the first week covered issues such as environmental sustainability, global poverty and inter-cultural relations. The second week was then spent on regional study tours to Manchester, Bradford, London and Birmingham during which the participants had the chance to visit projects in the UK which brought to life the issues that had been discussed.

Mosaic wishes to thank all who were involved, particularly our delegates who were inspiring, passionate, and full of ideas for instigating change for good in their communities.
