Mentoring sessions
Mentoring with Mosaic can take a number of different forms.
1:1 sees mentors paired with one student. These pairings are usually based on a common point of employment experience or interest, or background.
Group mentoring sees one or two mentorswith a small group of students.
Clusters are groups of up to 8 mentors with a class of students. These sessions are combined (followed by) with group sessions.
Themes and topics covered in mentoring sessions are planned by Mosaic and the schools covering an array of topics such as advice on entering a particular industry, CV preparation, interview techniques and general social skills.
World of Work visits involve students visiting a workplace for a day. Pupils gain direct experience of what it is like to be in a work environment, and an opportunity to hear from professionals and ask them questions.
The positive effects on young people being mentored is evident, as their aspirations and motivation increase after contact with mentors from a wealth of professional backgrounds and life experiences.
