NEW Mosaic Stars - youth leadership
New for this academic year 2009-2010, the Mosaic Stars programme is Mosaic's leading development programme for students from across the schools in which we work. Mosaic Stars seeks to recognise those students that have made the most of their support from Mosaic mentors and demonstrated clear leadership potential. Those selected for the programme will be provided with unrivalled support and access to unique opportunities.
The programme will be implemented in London, the West Midlands, North West and Yorkshire regions with 30 students per region participating in bespoke activity tailored to maximise access to unique opportunities. The programme ends with a national Mosaic Stars graduation ceremony to be held in December 2010.
Selection of Participants
Mosaic coordinators in each school, in liaison with the Mosaic mentors attached to the school, will be invited to nominate participating students who:-
- have responded most positively to the support provided by Mosaic mentors, as evidenced through enhanced attainment, behaviour and school attendance
- have demonstrated clear leadership potential that is not currently being fully developed
- are not being supported through any other similar development programme
Programme Activity
The Mosaic Stars programme will include activity delivered through both external opportunities and Mosaic's own national and regional programmes. Activity identified towards the Mosaic Stars programme 2009-2010 is as follows:-
