My interest in mentoring with Mosaic began 3 years ago as a means to experience primary school mentoring. I had such a wonderful time, full of amazing experiences, that I keep returning, year after year! I feel truly blessed to have been able to continue mentoring throughout undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and now alongside my current full-time job.
It would be extremely difficult for me to pick just one memorable experience in my time with Mosaic, because just when I think I have seen it all, another mother, daughter or mentor amazes me with their new-found confidence and self-esteem! For example, I have seen mothers with no formal qualifications enrol in courses at their local school or college, and I’ve seen mothers who have never gone to university return to their studies, at Birmingham City University would you believe!
In addition to the many positive impacts on students and their mothers that I’ve observed, I have also seen myself grow, become more confident and with a better appreciation of how I can make a positive difference to the lives of many. I would not have had this unique opportunity, had it not been for Mosaic!
