Back to School
The first group mentoring sessions of the new academic year took place this month.
18 Mosaic mentors enthusiastically and in some cases nervously went into 6 schools in the Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Brent, Camden and Waltham Forest, and introduced themselves to the students, talking about their backgrounds and their careers.
Students asked questions and reciprocated by talking about their own aspirations and backgrounds, their likes and dislikes.
Feedback from all the sessions was extremely positive, with both volunteers and students gaining something positive from the experience and looking forward to the next session.
Other Mosaic mentors received training to take part in one to one mentoring initiatives through Tower Hamlets College and Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership, and others have been matched with mentees from the Limehouse Project and UK Career Academy.
