The following volunteering opportunities are currently available in the East Midlands:

Secondary School Mentoring - group mentoring with 11 -16 year old pupils to motivate young people in their school work and exams, inspire them to consider in more detail what their options are, show them that these options are far greater than they might realise, and give practical insights into how others have made a success of their lives.

Enterprise Challenge - The Apax Partners-Mosaic Enterprise Challenge offers a unique opportunity for business leaders to pass on their experience to youngsters in some of our most disadvantaged communities, supporting school teams vying to win this inspirational national competition and nurturing the talent of future entrepreneurs of the future.  The Enterprise Challenge combines PIXELearning's leading enterprise game software and Mosaic's business mentors to enhance schools' business and enterprise studies curriculum.  The Challenge demonstrates how key business issues such as finance, sales, marketing and production are affected by each other and also tests understanding of responsible business issues.  To support the online business simulation game, we need local business mentors who can share with students their own experience, give insights into business and support them through the competition.  Mentors work with the school staff to explain the concepts behind the game, preparing teams for the competition, and explaining the relevance of the issues to their own businesses to bring the game to life with real-world examples.

Prison Mentoring - one-to-one mentoring support for 16-30 year-old offenders at the end of their custodial sentence, providing them with a trained mentor to support them through the difficult transition back into society and, particularly, the workplace.

Become a School Governor - Mosaic can broker you a link with a local Mosaic school or facilitate your access to the Association of Muslim Governors

Princes Trust - access to a range of local volunteering opportunities including Awards Assessors, Volunteer co-ordinators, Qualifications Assessors, Workshop Facilitators, Panel membership or chairperson, and Mentors

Building Bridges - groups are taken to visit local organisations or companies to find out more about what they do, and to forge relationships.

Mosaic has grown significantly in Leicester over the last 12 months and we are now looking to develop in the region concentrating on Leicester, Derby and Nottingham.
