• Pinky Pinky Lilani OBE

Originally from India, Pinky came to the UK having met her husband and married him in 3 weeks - he thought he had got a good Muslim wife who could cook. In the three weeks they had known each other Pinky had not had the time to tell him that she had never really been into a kitchen!

This was put right by learning to cook, teaching it, writing a cookery book SPICE MAGIC and working with most of the main supermarkets in Indian recipe development. Pinky now run team building days for major corporate organisations based around Indian cookery.

Pinky set up the ASIAN WOMEN OF ACHIEVMENT AWARDS - almost ten years ago and several other programmes which are all around the theme of women's empowerment. THE WOMEN OF THE FUTURE AWARDS for women under 35, the INSPIRATIONAL WOMENS NETWORK, THE AMBASSADORS PROGRAMME and THE INSPIRING EDUCATORS AWARD and THE GLOBAL EMPOWERMENT AWARD.

Pinky believes passionately in helping others in the community and has been a mentor with the PYBT for 15 years. She holds international buffets lunches for several charities at my home each year, and is Patron of the ASIAN WOMENS RESOURCE CENTRE, THE WESTMINSTER SOCIETY and THE NATIONA BLACK POLICE ASSOCIATION.

Pinky has a hugely supportive husband and 2 sons who are her inspiration.
