We arrived at the ‘swanky’ Grange hotel in St Pauls at 8.45am on Saturday 7 June for the start of what would be an unbelievable experience for the team from Bradford who won the 2014 Mosaic Enterprise Challenge.
The day started with a front row table for the final morning’s activities at the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) London 3 day event. The organisation has 9000 members who are leading business owners/leaders from around the world.
After being formally welcomed to the event by the chairman of EO, which immediately settled the boys from St Bedes making them feel welcome and giving them a boost in confidence, the morning proceeded with a series of thought provoking talks and discussions from business leaders and professors from the world of international business.
Trash4cash is a team of 5 boys who are aged between 12 and 13 years old and to keep them as interested and focused as they were was true testament to the quality of the subject matter within the speeches along with the charisma and enthusiasm of the speakers. Some of the tips and advice will be of enormous help to the team in formulating their business idea.
The morning which seemed to pass by in a flash ended with a banquet style lunch which the boys lapped up with vigour.
We were then met by Nabila Ayub, Yorkshire Regional Manager of Mosaic, and Jonathan Freeman, Mosaic National Director, who whisked us away by private hire carriage to be taken by cable car to the main event which was the use of an exclusive VIP box at the O2 arena.
Hosted by Tony Reynolds, Director of Retail for Barclays Bank, who kindly donated the box on behalf of Barclays to see the globally acclaimed Cirque du Soleil.
For many of the boys a trip to London was special enough in itself but to experience the glamour and attention they were subjected to at the O2 was truly amazing. The show lived up to all our expectations and will live in the boy’s memories for ever and a day.
Thanks once again to all involved. All that remains now is to get Trash4Cash’s business up and running.
