HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan of Jordan, Chair of the Mosaic Talent Awards

"I am delighted to welcome you to the Mosaic talent awards which recognise some of the bright young people and organisations achieving success from amongst British Muslims in society.

There is so much negative commentary and concern associated with young people today, particularly young Muslims, that we often risk missing the tremendous personal achievement and group contributions that are being made across all manner of areas. When I look at the scope and range of those shortlisted, it leaves me in no doubt that there is great drive, enthusiasm and ability in the young people of this country, and it is that positive potential which attracted me to becoming a supporter of Mosaic.

Mosaic, which His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales founded just a year ago, is a set of initiatives united in the aim of building a more cohesive and integrated society where individuals can be supported in realising their full potential. Through a variety of mentoring, volunteering and network activity, Mosaic provides inspiration, learning and access to opportunities for young people growing up in challenging circumstances.

These awards recognise the talent that can be unlocked through the type of initiatives Mosaic develops, and I hope you will see for yourselves that this is very much deserved. I encourage you all to join in supporting Mosaic in whatever way you can.

Finally, may I thank you for attending tonight and wish you a very enjoyable and inspiring evening, insha'Allah."

"Unlocking the talent and realising the potential of every part of our community is close to my heart, so I'm delighted that my Department is supporting the Mosaic Talent Awards. These Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the achievement of young British Muslims who are already making their mark on the world."
