Mosaic is delighted to announce that Noor Ali, Vice Chair of our Yorkshire Regional Leadership Group, has been named ‘Best Professional the Year’ at the 2016 Yorkshire Asian Business Awards.
Established by the Yorkshire Asian Business Association, this year’s Awards drew the highest number of entries in the ceremony’s history, marking it out as an increasingly important fixture in the Asian business calendar.
Noor Ali, who is Category Manager for World Foods and Free from for Morrison’s, commented: “It’s a real honour to win this award and I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage the business community in Yorkshire and further afield to explore the opportunity to mentor with Mosaic.
“The charity recently celebrated a record-breaking year in Yorkshire, with nearly 1,700 mentees supported by over 300 mentors across 56 institutions. It would be fantastic to expand on this in 2017.”
The awards ceremony, which took place at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford, was judged by an esteemed panel including Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Juliette Healey from the Bank of England, Lesley Batchelor from the Institute of Export and Tommy Nagra of the BBC.
In addition to Noor’s role as Mosaic’s Yorkshire Regional Leadership Vice-Chair, Noor also leads the Mosaic Women’s Action Group for Yorkshire, which encourages female role models to visit schools and inspire the young women of today. In 2011, she won Businesswoman of the Year at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards.
