One of Mosaic’s volunteer mentors has been recognised in a prestigious international awards ceremony for incorporating mentoring into his company’s everyday working practice and encouraging its workforce to give time to support people less fortunate than themselves.
G Entertainment’s CEO, Brooke Greville was awarded the Asian Social Caring Leadership award at the Social Caring Nobel Laureate Awards in Hong Kong, after he personally mentored a team of young entrepreneurs from Skinners’ Academy in Hackney, East London, who went on to win the 2015 Mosaic Enterprise Challenge.
The pupils’ concept for the competition, iRoundUp, was brought to life by ParentPay and has recently been rolled out across 6,000 schools in the UK, already raising tens of thousands of pounds for charity.
In 2017, Brooke’s colleague and Mosaic mentor Zoe Fiddes, took her mentees, Team YouTe@ch from Skinners’ Academy to national glory by winning the Mosaic Enterprise Challenge national Grand Finals. This was the first time a school had won the competition twice in the nine-year history of the Enterprise Challenge, and both times mentored by Brooke’s company.
Commenting on his time spent with Mosaic, Mr Greville said: “Our company’s passion for mentoring has grown thanks to the excellent work by Mosaic.
“The charity has set up an excellent network that makes it easier for companies and individuals to dedicate time to helping, directing and inspiring others.
“In fact, we were so inspired by Mosaic’s schemes that we decided to adopt mentoring as a key cornerstone of our business. It’s not only incredibly rewarding work but it teaches a lot of valuable lessons that help to create good business policies.”
Nizam Uddin, Head of Mosaic at The Prince’s Trust said: “Mosaic and The Prince’s Trust have been very fortunate to have the support of G Entertainment, and Brooke Greville in particular, through their work on the Mosaic Enterprise Challenge. It is unprecedented for a company to have mentors involved with the national winning team of our Enterprise Challenge competition and win twice but that is what G Entertainment have done.
It is in no small part to their commitment to giving back and promoting excellence with all of their activities, and we are very thankful. We hope the relationship long continues.”
