Mosaic welcomed Rt. Hon. Danny Alexander MP, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, as our Guest of Honour at an exclusive dinner for some of Mosaic’s senior supporters to discuss social mobility and the role of the private sector.
HRH Princess Badiya, Mosaic’s Chairman, welcomed some of Mosaic’s most senior supporters to join in an important discussion on the role of the private sector in supporting efforts to boost social mobility. The dinner was very generously hosted by Rumi Verjee CBE, Chairman of Thomas Goode & Company at their wonderful premises.
The Chief Secretary spoke about his own personal journey to the heights of the coalition government from a humble background, and played tribute to Mosaic’s role in supporting young people from similar backgrounds to achieve their potential. He stressed the importance of organisations such as Mosaic in mobilising private sector support to achieve social justice, commenting that he viewed such support as a moral imperative for all businesses. Guests had the opportunity to question the Chief Secretary on a range of issues related to this topic, as well as wider discussions concerning the economic climate, the continuing Eurozone crisis and changes to the education system.
Attending the discussion, Azhar of Conrans, commented: “It was a very inspiring evening, in an amazing surrounding!”
