Mosaic Ambassador Lord Gulam Noon was joined by Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Ummuna MP at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP in London on 18 June, at an event organised by the Patchwork Foundation and supported by Mosaic and Uprising.
The event involved over 100 business leaders and entrepreneurs from across the country. Mosaic Board members and other supporters were also invited to this unique engagement event.
Mosaic Board member Shabir Randeree CBE conducted a stage interview with Mosaic Ambassador Lord Gulam Noon about his life and business experiences which led him to be crowned UK’s “Curry King.”
Later on students from Brondesbury College and Skinners Academy school, who took part in Mosaic’s Enterprise Challenge, asked the first two testing questions to the Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Ummuna.
On the Apax-Mosaic Enterprise Challenge, Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Umunna MP said:
“The Mosaic Enterprise Challenge competition, founded by HRH The Prince of Wales, plays a crucial role in encouraging and inspiring young people to set up their own businesses, helping them gain confidence to make their ideas a reality and get an understanding of business. We want to see more people starting up, leading and working in business – encouraging the businesses and entrepreneurs of tomorrow is a key part of this.”
Mosaic Associates was delighted to support the event as part of Mosaic’s involvement with the Patchwork Foundation, a politically neutral organisation that aims to promote and encourage the positive integration of deprived and minority communities into civic society.
Mosaic’s National Director, and member of the National Advisory Board for Patchwork, Jonathan Freeman added:
“For many of the young people we support, setting up their own business provides a real opportunity to realise their talents. We were therefore delighted to be able to have this opportunity for these young people to be able to hear direct from two inspiring role models from the world of business and politics.”
The event was supported by Mosaic’s Women Business and Entrepreneurs Network and was kindly hosted by Norton Rose Fulbright LLP with the kind and generous support of Norton Rose Partner and Mosaic long-term supporter Farmida Bi.
