Rumi Verjee CBE is today honoured with a peerage, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Rumi Verjee is many things: a highly successful entrepreneur and the proprietor and Chairman of Thomas Goode & Co, founder of Domino’s Pizza in the United Kingdom and Chairman of Brompton Capital Limited and Ipanema Contemporary Living in Brazil. To us at Mosaic, he is simply a very great friend and invaluable Ambassador who has hosted us on more than one occasion!
Commenting on today’s announcement, Mosaic’s National Director Jonathan Freeman said: “This award is so well deserved. Rumi is the embodiment of what Mosaic stands for: hard work and drive equals results! He has been an inspiration to the many hundreds of young people who we support in schools and communities across the country. His tireless support since our very beginnings as a charity is so appreciated, and we couldn’t be more pleased for him today.”
On becoming a Mosaic Ambassador in 2012, Rumi commented: “The work that Mosaic undertakes is vital to achieve more understanding between people of different faiths and cultures. Mosaic builds aspirations and hope for so many to achieve their dreams in life. It sets the example for greater social mobility, understanding and opportunity for all in our society.”
