Following on from meeting with Mosaics’ Enterprise Challenge 2012/2013 winners in March, The Rt Hon Danny Alexander MP, the Chief Secretary of the Treasury, gave a master class about political negotiating, coalition building and implementation to over fifteen youth leaders on 3rd September.
The event was held at Liberal Democrats Head Office and was organised by the Patchwork Foundation and supported by Mosaic and Uprising.
Ayseha Ahmed, a graduate from the 3FF Parliamentors Programme said: “The master class was fantastic; it really shed light on who was there, what was said and the top policies discussed.’
Tabina Choudhury of Muslim Youth Helpline said: “Master classes helps to humanise politicians for me, they are always seen as unapproachable, so this was a fantastic opportunity to speak to the Minister on a 1-1 basis.”
Danny Alexander MP said: “It was a honour to meet the talented youth leaders, some who were representing Mosaic from across the country. It is important that the Liberal Democrats reach out to all communities and working closely with all sections of society so we can build a stronger economy and fairer society.”
Mosaic’s National Director, Jonathan Freeman spoke of Mosaic’s ongoing support of Patchwork: “The Patchwork Foundation is a politically neutral organisation that aims to promote and encourage the positive integration of deprived and minority communities into civic society. Patchwork’s aims dovetail with those of Mosaic, and we are thrilled to be able to help give these young people access to the country’s decision makers.”
