Each of the Mosaic Regions has been celebrating their Enterprise Challenge 2012/2013 success stories throughout the Spring, and we’re now looking forward to the final event of the year on 4th July in Woking.
Over 65 guests gathered at the inaugural West Midlands celebration event on 17th April which was hosted by Bordesley Green Girls School. The North West Region celebrated on 16th May and the London Region marked three consecutive years in the Challenge final on 23rd May.

It’s easy to think of Enterprise Challenge as a competition that culminates in a grand final event; but it’s actually more of a cycle that never really stops! Once we’ve completed all of our celebrations for this fourth year, which started in November 2012, we’ll be starting all over again! Year 5 of Enterprise Challenge will kick off on 18th November, once again, during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Guests from our North West supporter organisations, including: Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service, global law firm DLA Piper and leading brand development company PZ Cussons, gathered at The Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service Training and Development Centre on 16th May, to celebrate the end of Year 4 of Enterprise Challenge.
Mosaic’s North West Regional Manager Nafisa Hakim commented: “We are so thrilled to have so many of our great local supporters here with us today. Peter O’Reilly, who is the Director of Prevention & Protection at Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service, summed up the atmosphere here today when he spoke about how Enterprise Challenge embodies the sense of aspiration and achievement that Mosaic represents when he presented the students with their certificates for taking part in the Challenge.”
Nazir Afzal, Head of Crown Prosecution Service North and Chairman for Mosaic North West, remarked: “I am personally so proud of all our students who took part in the 2012/2013 Challenge. None of this would be possible without the support of our business partners and our mentors, we thank them all from the bottom of our hearts.”

The London Region celebrated not only a very respectable 3rd place in the overall competition, but also an amazing 3 years running in the grand final! Team Power Five from Southfields Academy took third place at the final in March with an innovative business idea for a niche, online digital business focused on recycling and reducing waste.
London Regional Chairman and Managing Partner of Fairway Search, Uzair Bawany said at the celebration event: “We’re so proud that once again, a team from the London Region has reached the final of Enterprise Challenge. We’ll take third! I’d like to thank all of our mentors and business supporters, such as M&S, Credit Suisse, Barclays and Everything Everywhere, who have made our ongoing results in the Enterprise Challenge possible.”
Mosaic’s Head of Operations, Kim O’Reilly commented: “This Cycle of Enterprise Challenge is coming to a close. We have only to celebrate with the South East on 4th July, and Yorkshire on 27th June as part of their end of year celebrations. We then take a very short breath before we begin all the mentor recruitment, in-school mentoring and planning for our fifth year of Enterprise Challenge, which will launch during Global Entrepreneurship Week in November. We can’t wait!”
