Saqib Akram
Job title and place of work: Head of Year & Mosaic Link Teacher, Belle Vue Girls School
Region: Yorkshire
From the start of Mosaic in Yorkshire, Saqib has been one of the most enthusiastic and committed Link teachers that Mosaic continues to work with. Reflecting the core principles of Mosaic in everything he does, Saqib has openly accepted Mosaic and takes every opportunity to involve Mosaic within the schools delivery of various programmes.
An example of this commitment was Saqib’s recent efforts surrounding the Belle Vue Girls School inclusion in the Commonwealth Day Observance parade at Westminster Abbey, for which he coordinated all internal work at the school. He also internally lead the recent “Tenner Challenge” which witnessed a few hundred pounds being converted into thousands for charity!
Belle Vue Girls School enjoys working with Mosaic and believe it is a positive vehicle in helping us to engage with the business community, bring in local role models thus increasing the motivation and aspiration levels of our students to aspire to achieve more. We deem it an honour to work with Mosaic and am certain our students want more!
Thank you for marking me Hero of the Month.
