Mosaic was founded in 2007 by HRH The Prince of Wales with the intention, in his own words, of helping young people realise their talents and potential. He was concerned that too many were leaving education lacking the skills that they need to forge successful careers as adults, with these problems being particularly acute in areas of high deprivation.
Seven years later, HRH’s founding ideals are still at the centre of everything that we do and we’ve expanded our work both in the UK and in countries around the world.
We are very pleased therefore to announce that HRH has recorded a special video message in which he expresses his pride in the work that we are doing. This video marked the launch of the Enterprise Challenge Qatar Grand Finals in Doha on 28 November 2015. In the video His Royal Highness says:
As founder of Mosaic I would particularly like to express my gratitude to all those very generous organisations and individuals who have provided financial support and wise council over the years to develop Mosaic’s work in the United Kingdom, and, increasingly our work overseas.
Mosaic continues to use mentors who volunteer their time to work with vulnerable young people in schools and prisons, inspiring them, believing in them and helping them raise their aspirations.
We’ve also extended our programmes to include the Enterprise Challenge, a competition for young people deigned to foster their entrepreneurial skills, and our International Leadership Programme that coaches and supports future leaders internationally to help them make a difference in their own communities.
For a detailed overview of our work in 2014/15 then please read our annual report.
As a charity, Mosaic relies on the generosity of our supporters to fund our work and the patience and skill of our volunteer mentors to inspire the young people taking part in our projects.
