Mohammed Saqub’s background is in Real Estate and Real Estate Finance. He studied law at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, he qualified as a Real Estate Solicitor at Wragge & Co LLP before joining SGH Martineau LLP in 2007.
Mohammed’s property experience includes acting for developers, investors and banks. He acted for developers on a joint venture with the London Development Agency the acquisition and re-development of derelict sites at Beckton and Leyton in East London, which were used to re-locate businesses from the Olympic zone.
Mohammed also specialises in providing public bodies and charities (universities, colleges and local authorities) specialist property advice relating to estates matters.
Mohammed helped establish an Islamic banking practice at Martineau about 5 years ago and the team, which now consists of circa 20 lawyers acts for a number of Islamic Banks in both the UK and the Arabian Gulf.
Mohammed is keen to improve the customer experience in Islamic finance and drafted the Land Registry’s practice guide on Islamic finance transactions in England and Wales.
Mohammed has lectured on MA Islamic finance at Aston University and more recently has been appointed by the University of Law to lecture on its Property Modules.
