Mosaic Associates participated in a stimulating discussion with the BBC’s Mishal Husain on her documentary on How Facebook Changed the World: The Arab Spring.
Generously hosted by Mosaic Board member Shabir Randeree, members of the Mosaic Associates initiative heard at first hand from Mishal about her amazing BBC documentary series on the story of how a new generation used the internet and social media to try to bring about change in their countries. Over dinner, Mosaic’s supporters were able to discuss the implications of these important changes, not just for the Arab world but across the world.
Mosaic Associate and mentor Saba Shaukat described the event as providing “moving imagery with an informative narrative and engaging discussion afterwards.”
Mishal Husain, BBC journalist and newsreader, is a long-standing Mosaic supporter. Mishal has supported a number of Mosaic events, including the 2010 Mosaic Talent Awards, and will shortly be visiting Mosaic students at Oldham Academy North to give them an insight on her journey to becoming one of the UK’s leading television reporters. Mosaic is hugely grateful to Mishal for all of her generous support.
