This year’s Queen’s Honours List saw a number of Mosaic Network members recognised for their contributions to British life and society.

Farouq, with his brother Haroon, founded Caretech in 1993 and from a single small care home have grown the company into one of the largest and most respected specialist care services in the United Kingdom. COSARAF, the foundation of the Sheikh family, has been a longstanding support of Mosaic and The Prince’s Trust.
Meanwhile longstanding Mosaic Ambassador Farmida Bi, currently Chair of Norton Rose Fulbright EMEA, has been recognised with a CBE for her Services to the Legal Profession and to Charity. As well as supporting Mosaic since its inception, particularly to the development and growth of the Mosaic Primary School Programme, Farmida is currently chair of Mosaic partner charity The Patchwork Foundation.
Also recognised in this year’s list is Mosaic’s Zeb Farooq; member of the North West Regional Leadership Group, who received an MBE for Services to Young People. Zeb has been key in facilitating effective Mosaic outreach in the region as well as assisting numerous World of Work visits to Jacobs’ nuclear laboratories aimed at giving more young people, particularly girls, access to positive role models in the field, whom of which wouldn’t have access to otherwise.
Responding to his recognition, Zeb said:
“It was my background and faith which made me want to help other young people who face the challenges that I faced when growing up. I hope this honor will encourage others to join in the work of the Prince’s Trust.”

Finally, Mosaic’s very own Nizam Uddin – the Senior Head of Mosaic and Community Integration at The Prince’s Trust – was awarded an OBE for Services to Social Mobility and Community Integration. A recent 2019 Yale Greenberg World Fellow, a Trustee of multiple charities and a member of the SAGE Sub-Group focused on providing expert advice on understanding COVID’s disproportionate impact on ethnic minorities, Nizam said of his honour:
“I am truly humbled by this recognition, and extremely honoured to be able to do the work we do at Mosaic. Since our inception, Mosaic has connected relatable role models to young people from our most isolated communities and shown them what is possible – I am thrilled to play my small part in that.
And on behalf of the entire Mosaic community, I send our heartiest congratulations to Farouq, Farmida and Zeb for their well deserved honours, and thank them for their role-modelling and continued support of Mosaic”
