Mosaic was delighted to support the inaugural Eid London 2013 event which took place on 13th September in the wonderful Crypt of the Guildhall, in the historic heart of the City of London. The event was attended by 150 guests from across the City, including many Mosaic supporters.
At the event, Mosaic’s Founder Chairman, HRH Princess Badiya bint el Hassan spoke passionately about the contribution of British Muslims to wider society, noting the many hundreds of volunteers giving up their time as Mosaic mentors to support those from all backgrounds to achieve their potential. The Princess made particular mention of Mosaic’s positive agenda and its ability to provide a powerful vehicle for those who have achieved success to give back to their communities.
The event also heard from Commander Mak Chisti of the Metropolitan Police, the most senior Muslim in the police service, Mosaic Ambassador Rt Hon Sadiq Khan MP, the Lord Mayor of the City of London and the Chief Constable of the City of London Police.
The event was organised by the National Association of Muslim Police, whose President is Asif Sadiq. Asif is a former Mosaic Mentor of the Year, who now sits on Mosaic’s London Regional Leadership Group.
As Mosaic’s founder Chairman, Princess Badiya has taken a special interest in the acknowledgement of our mentor community and will present the inaugural Princess Badiya Mentor of the Year Awards on 20th October. The event will this year be hosted at the famous Cinnamon Club in London by proprietor Vivek Singh.
