HRH Prince of Wales’ charitable initiative, Mosaic will be hosting its third International Summit between the 15th to the 24th of November in Qatar. A total of 80 delegates aged 25 to 35 from 16 countries, including four delegates from the UK, have been selected to participate.
With keynote speakers including Robert Swan OBE (the polar explorer who became the first man to walk to both the North and South poles) and Stuart Duff and Professor Binna Kandola OBE of business psychology consultancy Pearn Kandola, the Summit aims to develop responsible local and global leaders.
Alison Bradley, Mosaic’s International Director says: “Leaders have the potential to make a hugely positive impact in their workplace, local community, and beyond, particularly with the ever increasing effects of globalisation. The Mosaic International Summit aims to equip young leaders for this task. By including skills based workshops on how to lead, alongside inspiring examples of those who have applied their leadership skills for good, we see delegates grow exponentially in their confidence and ability.”
The Summit deliberately recruits delegates from a diverse range of backgrounds, creating a rich environment as a variety of perspectives and leadership experiences are brought together. Small group discussions and open forums give opportunity for individuals to input their ideas and to reflect together upon the programme topics. Visits to organisations in the local area further enable delegates to be inspired by the positive impact of leadership across many settings.
Mosaic supports delegates in the year following the Summit, as they put into practise all that they have learned. Following last year’s Summit, delegates became involved in a wide range of activity including; setting up a workplace volunteering scheme; organising a series of fundraising events for local families in need; writing and teaching a Social Entrepreneurship module to MBA students.
This year’s UK delegation includes two police officers, a commercial lawyer and a community worker. Asif Sadiq from City of London Police, one of the UK delegates, stated: “This experience will certainly further my skill-set, allowing me to bring back widened perspectives that improve my work within my local community”.
The Mosaic International Summit is sponsored by Prudential Corporation Asia as global partner.
Qatar Foundation is the main Qatar sponsor, with Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Shell supporting sponsors. The Credit Suisse EMEA Foundation and Etihad Airways are also partners of the Mosaic International Summit.
Delegates represent: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia (resident in Kenya) Turkey, UAE and UK.
