Mosaic would like to congratulate mentor and North West Leadership Group Member Zeb Farooq for winning an award in recognition of the support he has provided to charities which underpin diversity and inclusion in his local community, one of which was Mosaic.
Zeb works as a Bid Manager for Amec Foster Wheeler and was awarded the company’s Clean Energy award for his charitable endeavours. He has been a mentor with Mosaic in the North West region since October 2014, participating in the Secondary School Programme. Zeb has helped teams get to the regional finals of the Enterprise Challenge twice, working with the Manchester Islamic High School for Girls and Parrs Wood High School.
On top of this, he was awarded Highly Commended Mentor of the Year in the North West in 2015 and has been a member of the North West Regional Leadership Group since January 2016.
Zeb said: “It’s a real honour to be recognised by my employer for work that I’m doing outside of my day job. I enjoy working closely with the secondary school students to provide them with business insight based on my own experiences, to broaden their horizons.
“Helping young people in my community to improve their confidence and realise their true potential for their futures is such a rewarding experience. I would recommend mentoring a thousand times over.”
Nafisa Hakim, Prince’s Trust Mosaic Education Executive said: “We are so grateful to Zeb’s commitment to mentoring over the years and we’re really proud of him for winning this award.
“Zeb is a shining example of why working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to improve their outlook on life is so important. We hope that he continues to inspire others to follow in his footsteps.”
The Secondary School Programme is made possible in the North West region thanks to the generous support of the AlFaisal Without Borders Foundation.
