Mosaic, an initiative of The Prince’s Trust, has been announced as the charitable partner for the Women in Business Awards, one of the most prestigious events in the calendar for professional women across the UK.
Sponsored by HSBC and organised by Forward Ladies, which was founded in 1999 to celebrate and champion the role of women in the workplace, the Women in Business Awards is now in its seventh year with categories covering everything from start-up and not-for-profit to inspiring leaders.
The national final of the 2016 Awards took place in Leeds on the 1st December, where all category winners from the regional finals competed for the overall title of the Business Woman of the Year.
The event raised £2200 for Mosaic and was compered by ITV’s Charlene White, a long-term supporter of Mosaic who also compered at the Enterprise Challenge Grand Final in May.
Forward Ladies Managing Director, Griselda Togobo, who sits on Mosaic’s Yorkshire Regional Leadership Group Board, said: “The Women in Business Awards were created to give women a unique opportunity to acknowledge their successes. We need more female role models to inspire, help and mentor the next generation of talent and Mosaic is the perfect partner to help us with this.
“The charity’s mentoring programmes aim to encourage confidence, ambition and self-efficacy amongst young people, particularly young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through this partnership, we hope to help raise awareness of Mosaic’s incredible work and encourage members of our network to sign-up as volunteer mentors.”
Jonathan Freeman, Managing Director of Mosaic, commented: “We’re both excited and honoured to have been chosen as the charitable partner to the Women in Business Awards by Forward Ladies. Both organisations strive to unlock the potential of women across the country and help bridge the aspiration-attainment gap. We wish the very best of luck to all nominees and look forward to celebrating their achievements on the night.”
