Mosaic was one of the many privileged guests at 10 Downing Street for the Big Society Awards celebration that was hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron last month.
Our Managing Director Jonathan Freeman and Head of Communications, Nizam Uddin were invited to attend the prestigious event in January 2015 on behalf of Mosaic.
Jonathan Freeman said: “It was an honour to be invited to attend the celebration event at Downing Street and meet other inspiring organisations that are doing so much to benefit our society. We were fortunate to meet the Prime Minister to explain the work Mosaic does and were delighted to hear of his familiarity with our work.”
The Big Society is about people having more power and control in their local communities so that they can take action to help others, shape where they live and play a more active role in society. Mosaic’s recognition in this area was due to the 1200+ individuals who give up their time every year to make a difference in the lives of the young people that we work with.
The government established the Big Society to help fund charities and community groups and the Awards acknowledge and celebrate UK organisations and groups who are doing exceptional work in the community.
