Year 10 students from Mosaic-supported Bishop David Brown School in Woking today acted as Flagbearers at the Commonwealth Observance at Westminster Abbey, in the presence of HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, HRH The Prince of Wales, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall and HRH The Countess of Wessex.
The selected students were proud to join over 2000 dignitaries at Westminster Abbey to celebrate Commonwealth Day in HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year. The Commonwealth Observance is the largest annual multi-faith service in the UK.
Performers at the service included singer Rufus Wainwright and legendary South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela.
