The annual Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2018 took place on the 9th May at the London Hilton, Park Lane. The evening saw Mosaic Advisory Board Vice Chairman and International Pro Bono Director and Human Rights lawyer at Hogan Lovells, Yasmin Waljee OBE, awarded the AWA award for Business.

Yasmin’s appointment as International Pro Bono Director at Hogan Lovells in 1997 was not only the first of its kind in a city law firm but the first of its kind in Europe. Yasmin’s recognition comes after unwavering respect for her wide-ranging career dedicated to social enterprise, supporting human trafficking survivors in the UK, representing 7/7 victims and Yazidi women fleeing ISIS.
The Asian Women of Achievement Awards, founded by Pinky Lilani CBE DL in 1999, celebrate multi-cultural Britain and the contribution of diverse cultures and talents to UK society. The awards celebrate the phenomenal Asian women across the UK from a number of industries, who are making a valuable and important contribution to British life. The awards play a key role in redefining the contribution of Asian women; and informing a new, positive, pro-diversity debate.
Next year the Asian Women of Achievement Awards celebrates its 20th anniversary. The awards continue to offer a unique opportunity to spotlight the incredible achievements of Asian women in the UK – the contribution they make, both professionally and in their communities, across a vast range of industries and professions.
