Several of Mosaic’s supporters and friends were included in the Queen’s prestigious 2018 Birthday Honors List. A total of 1,057 people were awarded in this year’s list that included Mosaic Yorkshire Regional Leadership Group (RLG) member Mabs Hussain MBE, who is Chief Superintendent for the West Yorkshire Police.
Driven to improve opportunities for those less fortunate, Mabs began volunteering as a mentor for Mosaic back in 2010 and shortly joined the RLG in Yorkshire thereafter.
He innovatively went on to help create Mosaic’s prison mentoring ‘Ex-Offender Programme’, responsible for 130 trained mentors and over 100 offenders who have been supported as a result.
The Queen’s Birthday Honors List recognizes the achievements of a wide range of extraordinary people across the UK. Each recipient exemplifies some of the very best of our nation; with 71% of awards awarded going to those who have undertaken outstanding work in or for their local community.
Senior Head of Mosaic and Community Integration, Nizam Uddin, said: “It’s so incredible to see so many of our peers and the instrumental work that our friends and supporters do for Mosaic being recognized with such an honor that is so very well deserved!”
