Mosaic’s North West Regional Manager Noordad Aziz has been selected to participate in an exclusive leadership programme to visit the United States of America. Noordad is one of only eight young emerging leaders chosen to take part in the scheme, out of over 50 people who applied.
The International Visitor Leadership Program is coordinated and administered by the Office of International Visitors in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. The three-week programme is tailored for each participant to reflect their professional interests; during his time in the US, Noordad is likely to visit Washington DC, meet up with his American professional counterparts, learn about the US system of government, visit US schools and experience American culture and social events.
Upon his return, Noordad plans to share his incredible experiences with the young people that he supports across the North West who are taking part in Mosaic’s group mentoring programmes.
Noordad says, “I hope to inspire them and give them a real life example of my journey. My experience encompasses what Mosaic aims to do by instilling confidence and aspirations in the young people we work with, and give them the resilience to undertake opportunities that they may think are unattainable.”
Noordad is already a day into his trip and is busy blogging about his fascinating experiences at Democratic and Republican campaign rallies, and the inspirational US Muslim leaders he is meeting.
You can keep up with Noordad on his journey by reading his blog or following him on Twitter.
