Already engaged with Business in the Community’s (BITC) Business Class programme through a partnership with Villiers School in Ealing, the company was put in touch with Mosaic by BITC.
In January 2016, Retail Insight provided seven mentors to support Mosaic’s flagship Enterprise Challenge mentoring programme, with one of the mentors going on to attend the South East Regional Final and the company donating prizes on the day.
Rob Boulton, HR Manager at Retail Insight, said: “Our support of Mosaic is very much driven by a desire from our CEO and I to give something back to a community or organisation local to where we are based. Interest has been incredibly positive and our staff are very willing and excited at the opportunity to support Mosaic in future events.
“The mentoring experience as part of the Enterprise Challenge was incredibly rewarding for those of us involved. We shared our experiences across the business, and there are more of our staff members who would like to volunteer their time who weren’t able to support the Enterprise Challenge. For a relatively small business this is hugely encouraging for me to see, and I hope to nurture and build on a really exciting platform moving forward.”
Rob highlighted three main benefits of working with Mosaic:
- It’s a wonderful opportunity to do something positive just by giving up a few hours of your time
- The rewards are fantastic and are worth far more than any monetary value
- It creates a positive message around your business that you genuinely care
He added: “The support we’ve received from the team at Mosaic has been fantastic, and the briefing before the Enterprise Challenge dispelled any fears our mentors had. This also helped the day run incredibly smoothly, and we all benefited from having the Mosaic brochure to work through on the day.”
