On 18th July, the Mosaic Yorkshire network gathered at Deeva Restaurant in Farsley, for a meal to celebrate their achievements from the last academic year.
Volunteer mentors and supporters have done a fantastic job this academic year. Highlights included an Enterprise Challenge team from Carlton Bolling School reaching the Grand Finals and performing their pitch in front of HRH The Prince of Wales.
Regional Co-Chairs Zulfi Hussain and Sarah Khan Bashir spoke about the positive impact that mentoring has on young people, why people should volunteer their time as mentors and what they hope will be achieved in the region next academic year. Saqib Akram, a teacher at Belle Vue Girls’ School in Bradford, explained how the mentoring programme has increased students’ confidence and self-esteem and encouraged volunteers to sign up for next year.
Overall it was a fantastic evening with plenty to celebrate and exciting plans for next academic year!
